I have lived in Furzedown for the past six years and have a strong passion for my local community, supporting young people and creating opportunities that help people to thrive.

Professionally, I have over 20 years of experience working across local government, education, health and social care, community development and the voluntary sector. Much of my career has involved supporting children, young people and families, including roles in schools, SEND services, residential care, family support and youth substance misuse services. I have worked directly with young people facing a wide range of challenges, including additional needs and disabilities, exploitation, substance misuse and serious youth violence.

I have also held senior management and leadership roles within both a care home and a nursery setting. These roles gave me valuable experience in managing staff, safeguarding, supporting families, overseeing day-to-day services and making sure people received safe, high-quality support. My background in care and early years has helped shape the way I work with people with empathy, patience, consistency and a strong focus on wellbeing.

I currently work as a Community Development Officer, where I develop and lead community programmes, build partnerships, monitor communuty centres and VCSE organisations, while creating opportunities for residents to get involved in their communities.

These experiences have given me a strong understanding of the importance of early intervention, safeguarding, building trusted relationships and making sure young people have positive opportunities and a voice in their communities.

Outside of work, I enjoy boxing, art, exercise, comic books and travelling.
